                     THE ULTIMATE PURPOSE FOR MANKIND’S EXISTENCE ON PLANET EARTH

QUESTION: Have you ever wondered just what is the Ultimate Purpose For The Existence of Mankind on Planet Earth?

A long time ago, a man spoke to me about what happened in his life when he really began to think. He was about 35 years of age. And, he said that he came to the realization that "there has to be something more to living on this planet besides just seeing how much you can accomplish, how much money you can make, having a family, helping others, traveling the world, having all the niceties, and luxeries, etc, and then you die and leave it to your family and friends, or whatever". As the song said, back in the 1960's, "Is that all there is"?

Interestingly enough, I was about 37 years of age, when I heard this man speak and I began to think about the man's question. I thought about it quite a lot. I still think about it.

Answers began to come to me, but it was several years before it really all came together, firmly, in my mind. And, even then, it took more refining, and I suspect that it will continue to evolve and refine for Eternity. But, for now, on this planet, THE KEY PART OF THE ANSWER came to me after some years.

THE ANSWER that came to me, and it took some time to formulate IT is THE FOLLOWING:

THE ULTIMATE PURPOSE for mankind's existence on planet earth is to seek and obtain, as close as possible, A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND HIS TRUTH, in our minds and hearts, and to commit our lives 100% TO HIM, AND HIS TRUTH, every moment of every day so that THAT PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP continues to grow for now and Eternity!! We are to be so surrendered to HIM, moment by moment, that HE CAN USE us, FIRST AND FOREMOST, TO GLORIFY AND VINDICATE HIM AND HIS HOLY NAME, AND HIS TRUTH, AND HIS GOVERNMENT, before this whole planet, and all the other occupied planets in The Whole Universe! THAT IS our HIGHEST AND ULTIMATE CALLING. Everyone else and everything else is subservient to THAT ULTIMATE PURPOSE, and that MEANS Everyone Else and Everything Else !!!

Now, that takes some Serious Prayer, and Study and Commitment by each individual person who sees that and wants to do just that! And, since each person is just that, an individual with a unique personality, history, upbringing, enviroment, health, education and many other circumstances, then, the Particular Calling for that person and what they are to do to fultill THAT ULTIMATE PURPOSE, is between them AND THE LORD!

And, yet, we must Remember, we can do none of this, WITHOUT THE LORD WORKING in us TO ACCOMPLISH IT. Our job is to ask HIM TO COME IN AND TAKE OVER, FULLY, AND THEN, COOPERATE WITH HIM SO HE CAN DO JUST THAT!!!

Therefore, we now begin to see why an individual PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD JESUS IS ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE! For, without IT, we are nothing.

We may think we are something, and we may accomplish, on this earth, many things, and obtain a great reputation, etc, BUT, WITHOUT THE LORD JESUS in our minds and hearts, FULLY, we are, in the end, Absolute Zero! And, when we do die, we will leave whatever we have obtained to whomever we choose, and, after the final events of THIS WHOLE PLAN OF SALVATION, we will be burned up by fire from Heaven and cease to exist for eternity!

Now, compare that option with Eternal Life WITH THE LORD JESUS, with No More Sin of any kind, No pain, worry, disease, crime, war, hurt, disspointment, no more need for money, ( Hurray on that one ), No more doctors, policemen, fireman, salesmen, cars, boats, planes, telemarketers, bullys, bills to pay, mortgages, etc, you name it! But, rather Eternal Bliss, pursuing our greatest desires and ever learning new things, AND, MOST IMPORTANT OF OF ALL, GLORIFYING AND PRAISING AND SERVING AND Learning about our LORD AND SAVIOUR AND MASTER AND our GOD, THROUGH ALL ETERNITY. That will be a Life that we cannot possibly imagine, at this time, no matter how we stretch our imaginations.

1 Corinthians 2.9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

So, I ask you, all, COMPARED TO BEING WITH THE LORD JESUS FOR ETERNITY, what has this world got to offer us that even registers on the scale!!!??? True, we have things to do here, and people to associate with, etc, BUT, COMPARE that WITH BEING WITH THE LORD JESUS IN A SINLESS ENVIROMENT, FOREVER!!!! THERE IS NO COMPARISON!!!

LOOK AT THESE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS FROM THE BIBLE, AND SPIRIT OF PROPHECY AND 1888 MESSAGE:

Matthew 6.19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

Matthew 6.20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

Matthew 6.21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 6.22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

Matthew 6.23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!

Matthew 6.24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Matthew 6.25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Matthew 6.26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Matthew 6.27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

Matthew 6.28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

Matthew 6.29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Matthew 6.30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Matthew 6.31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

Matthew 6.32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

Matthew 6.33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Matthew 6.34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Matthew 11.28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11.29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Matthew 11.30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

John 15.2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

John 15.3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

John 15.4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

John 15.5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Jesus repelled the charge of blasphemy. My authority, He said, for doing the work of which you accuse Me, is that I am the Son of God, one with Him in nature, in will, and in purpose. In all His works of creation and providence, I co-operate with God. "The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He seeth the Father do." The priests and rabbis were taking the Son of God to task for the very work He had been sent into the world to do. By their sins they had separated themselves from God, and in their pride were moving independently of Him. They felt sufficient in themselves for all things, and realized no need of a higher wisdom to direct their acts. But the Son of God was surrendered to the Father's will, and dependent upon His power. So utterly was Christ emptied of self that He made no plans for Himself. He accepted God's plans for Him, and day by day the Father unfolded His plans. So should we depend upon God, that our lives may be the simple outworking of His will. {DA 208.2}

"All these things," said Jesus, "do the nations of the world seek after." "Your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Luke 12: 30; Matt. 6:32, 33. I have come to open to you the kingdom of love and righteousness and peace. Open your hearts to receive this kingdom, and make its service your highest interest. Though it is a spiritual kingdom, fear not that your needs for this life will be uncared-for. If you give yourself to God's service, He who has all power in heaven and earth will provide for your needs. {MB 99.1}

Jesus does not release us from the necessity of effort, but He teaches that we are to make Him first and last and best in everything. We are to engage in no business, follow no pursuit, seek no pleasure, that would hinder the outworking of His righteousness in our character and life. Whatever we do is to be done heartily, as unto the Lord. {MB 99.2}

As the will of man cooperates with the will of God, it becomes omnipotent. Whatever is to be done at His command may be accomplished in His strength. All His biddings are enablings. {COL 333.1}

                                                                    1888 MESSAGE

                      1895 General Conference Sermons by Elder A. T. Jones - Sermon No. 15

95 15-057
Brethren, that does me good.
For I know that if ever anything good is to be manifested in this world where I am, it must come from some source besides myself. That is settled. But, O! the blessedness of it is, God has demonstrated that He will manifest His righteous self instead of my sinful self when I let Him have me. I cannot manifest righteousness of myself; I cannot manifest His righteousness in myself. No. I let Him have me, absolutely, overwhelmingly. Then He attends to that. He has demonstrated it so. He has demonstrated a whole lifetime what God is when He is joined with me in sinful flesh. He can do it again as certainly as He can have me.

95 15-058
Will you let Him have you?
O, does it call for too full a surrender? No. It is becoming. How full a surrender did He make? He surrendered all Himself. Christ gave up Himself, emptied Himself. The French translation is, "He annihilated Himself." He undid Himself and sank Himself in us in order that God, instead of ourselves and His righteousness, instead of our sinfulness, might be manifested in us in our sinful flesh. Then let us respond and sink ourselves in Him, that God may still be manifest in sinful flesh.

95 15-059
Now using that statement
that is sometimes used in a jocular way about the man--I use it reverently, and it is a good illustration; it is a right illustration--who said: "I and my wife are one, and I am the one." Christ and the man are one, and the question always is, Which shall be the one? Christ has allied Himself with every man on the earth, but multitudes say, "Yes, that is all right enough, but I am the one." Many arrogantly refuse all, exclaiming: "I am the one; I am enough." but the Christian, the believer, yielding to Jesus Christ, says, "Yes, thank the Lord! He and I are one and He is the one."

95 15-060
Christ has allied Himself with every human being,
on His own part; and if every human being in the world tonight should drop everything and say, "Yes, that is a fact; He and I are one, and He is the one," every soul would be saved tonight, and Christ would appear in every soul tomorrow.
